Hi, my name is Evan Frankfort and I’m a 6th generation Los Angelino composer / producer / musician. In a family of classically trained musicians, I grew up a misfit with a hard time following rules. Starting off in lots of bands, I would often count down the minutes until I could be off stage and back at work with my 4-track. I co-founded a band called Gingersol and later joined Maypole (Sony/Work Group) playing bass and lap steel. In 1995, I won a Daytime Emmy for Guiding Light but left to tour with Maypole, The Wallflowers and the Jayhawks. While touring, it became clear that my heart was back at the studio. As an early adopter of Pro Tools, I found creative ways to develop cool sounds. My rig and I became a staple at most LA studios. I worked with many talented artists and bands including Rancid, Pete Yorn, The Bangles, Distillers, Turbonegro, Orson, The Muffs, The Plain White T’s, Greg Kihn, A Flock of Seagulls, Missing Persons and Liz Phair. Liz and I have also scored a half dozen shows together including Swingtown, Beverly Hills 90210, In Plain Sight, The Client List and Super Fun Night. More recently, I've scored the TV show, CW’s The 100 as well as a host of shows spanning across ABC, CW, CBS and NBC Saturday mornings. I’ve also co-founded a band called Les Friction, in which I go by the pseudonym Nihl Finch. Other bands I’ve founded include The Spiritual Machines, The Motherless Bastards, Melodine and The Highest of Lows. Thanks for stopping by.
